President Muizzu is a traitor, and betrayal is not something Maldivians will accept: Nasheed
Former President Mohamed Nasheed has sharply criticized President Dr. Muizzu, accusing him of betraying the leaders he works with. Nasheed further alleged that the move to pursue a no-confidence motion against Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ahmed Nazim is driven by the President's own fear of facing a potential impeachment vote.

Former President Mohamed Nasheed, who is contesting for the position of MDP Chairperson, has stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is disloyal, asserting that such betrayal is something the Maldivian people will not accept.
Speaking at the "Bodu Badhalu" rally, Nasheed stated that President Muizzu is a leader who has proven to be disloyal even to his closest associates.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed stated that the move to seek a no-confidence vote against Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ahmed Nazim is driven by fears that Nazim might switch parties or initiate a no-confidence motion against President Muizzu. Nasheed further remarked that such tactics are consistent with President Muizzu’s past behavior.
"President Muizzu is completely unscrupulous. While I was serving as the Speaker of Parliament, Ghassan Maumoon decided not to contest for the PNC ticket in support of Muizzu. When he consulted me, I told him, 'My dear brother, do not touch that wall. He is a scorpion that will sting you in the most painful way possible,'" Nasheed said.
Nasheed further characterized the subsequent dissolution of PPM as a move to consolidate President Muizzu’s hold on power. He asserted that this was done because the President intended to establish the PNC as the nation’s dominant political party. Nasheed added that it was within this same context that President Muizzu sidelined former President Yameen.
