The lesson learned from 2023 is that everyone must unite to secure a victory for the MDP, stated Meekail Ahmed Naseem, the Member of Parliament for South Galolhu, who is contesting for the position of MDP Chairperson.
He made these remarks while speaking at the "Ithubaaru" campaign rally held in Lh. Hinnavaru. Meekail stated that efforts must be made to reclaim the presidency lost by the MDP in 2023, emphasizing that this can only be achieved through meticulous planning. Meekail further stressed that internal divisions and fragmentation should not be allowed, and that members must work together collectively to return the MDP to power.
"God willing, we will succeed in 2028 by coming together, speaking with one voice, and working as a united front," Meekail said.
Meekail emphasized that the general members of the MDP must prioritize these efforts. He further stated that the influence of the atolls needs to be strengthened in coordinating the party's affairs.
Meekail highlighted that the presence of numerous individuals interested in the MDP presidential ticket is a testament to the party's internal strength and diversity. Furthermore, he emphasized that for the average MDP member, the priority remains the securing of fundamental rights, such as the right to employment, which he asserted can only be achieved by returning the party to power.
