President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has suggested that the failure of the referendum on holding two elections on the same day was due to the actions of the ruling PNC campaign team.
President Muizzu made these remarks while addressing a campaign rally held in AA. Rasdhoo.
The President stated that the opposition had been spreading falsehoods regarding the referendum vote, and that only these narratives had reached the public. Noting that the situation had become muddled as a result, the President remarked that the PNC campaign teams had failed to adequately clarify the facts to the people.
The widespread dissemination of various falsehoods meant that only those narratives reached the public. Consequently, this issue was mired in confusion, as we were unable to effectively communicate the facts.President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu
The President stated that while the matter was very clear, the PNC campaign teams had failed to carry out the work effectively.
Despite the President's assertion that only the opposition's narrative reached the public, numerous complaints have been filed with various authorities highlighting that the state media exclusively broadcast the government's stance.
