Deadline extended for participation in the third National Service Program
The Ministry of Defence has extended the application deadline for the third intake of the National Service Program until April 7, 2026. Targeted at youth between the ages of 16 and 28, the three-month training program is scheduled to commence this May at Lh. Maafilaafushi. According to the Ministry, the initiative continues to receive significant interest and support from the youth.

The Ministry of Defence has extended the application deadline for the third intake of the National Service Program.
The Ministry of Defence has announced that applications are now open for the third round of the National Service Initial Training program, conducted by the Maldives National Service. The Ministry further confirmed that the deadline for enrollment in the program has been extended.
The Ministry stated that applications can be submitted until 2:00 p.m. on April 7, 2026.
The three-month program is open to individuals in good health between the ages of 16 and 28. The Ministry of Defence stated that applicants under the age of 18 may only participate with the formal consent of a legal guardian.
The third edition of the national service program is scheduled to commence training this May.
The training will be conducted at the MNDF Composite Training Centre in Lh. Maafilaafushi.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the program is receiving significant support and interest from a large number of young people.
The first batch of 344 young individuals completed their training and graduated on December 28 last year. Training for the second batch is currently underway.
