President says Fenaka MD provided inaccurate information regarding number of employees at company's Feeali branch
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that he will investigate any potential inaccuracies regarding the reported number of new employees hired by the Fenaka branch in F. Feeali under the current administration. The President clarified that the figures were provided by the Managing Director of Fenaka and maintained that there was no intent to mislead, despite reports that over 30 staff members have been recruited to the branch alongside significant hiring across other state-owned enterprises.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that he will investigate claims regarding the hiring of only 10 employees at the Fenaka branch in F. Feeali since the current administration took office. The President noted that if inaccurate information was provided, it would be reviewed, adding that the figures had been supplied by Fenaka Corporation’s Managing Director, Muaz Mohamed Rasheed.
During a press conference held last Monday, the President stated that there are currently 60 employees at the Fenaka branch in Feeali. He clarified that while this administration hired 10 of those individuals, the remaining 50 were recruited during the previous MDP administration.
However, when President Muizzu assumed office, the Fenaka branch in Feeali had only 26 employees. Since then, the Muizzu administration has hired 34 additional staff for the branch. Furthermore, efforts are currently underway to recruit five more individuals. Once these appointments are finalized, the total number of employees hired by this administration at the Feeali Fenaka branch will rise to 39.
During a press conference held on Monday, the President addressed a query from RaajjeTV regarding this matter. His response was based on information provided by the Managing Director of Fenaka. It was further noted that if the information supplied to the President by the Fenaka MD contained inaccuracies, the reasons behind such errors would be investigated.
"I will ask the Managing Director of Fenaka to clarify why there was an error in the information provided to me, if that is indeed the case. I am relaying the information as I received it. I can assure you that I would never twist or alter the facts provided to me; I simply share the information exactly as it is presented." — President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu
Furthermore, during a press conference held last Monday, the President made another false claim by stating that 50 people were hired for the Fenaka branch in Feeali during the MDP administration. By the end of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's five-year term, only 18 employees had been recruited for the Feeali branch. The remaining eight employees were those hired when Fenaka first commenced operations in the island.
In addition to Fenaka, other state-owned enterprises are also continuing to recruit new staff. For instance, five employees were recently hired for the Feeali ice plant. Furthermore, five additional staff members have been recruited for the MTCC site. The current administration has also appointed nine new employees to the MTCC ferry service in Feeali.
In addition to Feeali, the current administration is providing jobs to a significant number of people ahead of the upcoming elections. Government companies and ministries are actively advertising numerous vacancies to recruit new staff. These entities include the Road Development Corporation (RDC), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Maldives Customs Service, Fenaka Corporation, and Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM).
