MDP campaign team receives warm welcome in Baarah
During a visit to HA. Baarah for the local council election campaign, MDP President Abdulla Shahid met with the island's candidates and accused the current administration of neglecting rural communities. Speaking at the meeting, Shahid highlighted the lack of developmental progress across islands and urged citizens to vote "no" in the upcoming referendum on aligning elections. Accompanied by senior MDP officials, Shahid was welcomed by a large number of residents during the visit.

The President of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Abdulla Shahid, was accorded a warm welcome by the residents of Ha. Baarah upon his arrival in the island to campaign for the upcoming Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections.
A large number of residents gathered to extend a warm welcome to the MDP campaign team upon their arrival in Baarah on Friday afternoon.
MDP President Abdulla Shahid, along with Maradhoo MP Ahmed Didi, former Member of Parliament Ahmed Abdulla, and several general members of the party, traveled to Haa Alif Atoll on Friday as part of the campaign for the Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections.
During a visit to Haa Alif Atoll Baarah, the MDP campaign team met with local candidates. Speaking at the meeting, MDP President Abdulla Shahid stated that the current administration has significantly marginalized these islands, asserting that the MDP is the only party capable of rectifying the situation. Shahid further noted that despite billions being approved in the annual budget, no progress is being made toward the development of the islands.
Furthermore, Shahid urged the public to vote against the proposal to synchronize the presidential and parliamentary elections with the upcoming local council elections.
