Under this administration, the people are suffering; today, they cannot access medicine, cooking gas, or even blood: MP Nazil
MP Nazil has criticized the government's efforts to synchronize presidential and parliamentary elections, characterizing the move as an attempt to deceive the public and bypass their democratic voice. He noted that despite significant budgetary allocations, the administration has failed to deliver tangible results, leaving citizens to face severe difficulties in accessing basic services. Consequently, Nazil urged the public to remain vigilant against these proposed changes and to reject the government's agenda.

Ibrahim Nazil, the Member of Parliament for the South Hithadhoo constituency, has stated that the public is facing severe hardships under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration, claiming that essential supplies such as medicine, cooking gas, and even blood are currently unavailable.
During the MDP National Congress meeting held on Thursday night, MP Nazil strongly criticized the government's efforts to synchronize the presidential and parliamentary elections. He stated that the government would use its supermajority in Parliament to push through the necessary legislative changes, warning that such a move would ultimately be detrimental to the public.
MP Nazil emphasized the importance of voting against the proposal to hold presidential and parliamentary elections concurrently with the upcoming local council elections. He stated that the public believes President Muizzu has consistently misled them through his rhetoric. According to Nazil, the people feel that the administration has failed to deliver any tangible benefits since President Muizzu took office on November 17, 2023. He further noted that the country has deteriorated to a state where citizens are struggling to access basic necessities, including essential medicine, cooking gas, and even life-saving blood supplies.
Whether it is Aasandha coverage or basic medication, when we visit the islands, the people tell us they cannot access medicine, gas, or even blood services. This is the reality. We have seen budgets of 52 billion rufiyaa passed for 2024, 59 billion for 2025, and 64 billion for 2026. What has actually been achieved for the citizens with this money? I note that this government is making a significant effort to bypass the public and finalize matters through deception, such as the move to consolidate two elections under the guise of cost-cutting. Therefore, the citizens must say "no" to these actions by the government.Ibrahim Nazil, Member of Parliament for the Hithadhoo South constituency.
MP Nazil stated that President Muizzu’s administration intends to govern without engaging with the public or considering their concerns. Furthermore, Nazil warned that all future decisions would be made behind closed doors within government offices, and urged the public to remain vigilant regarding this shift.
