Individual arrested for chewing gum in public during Ramadan, alongside another suspect

Two individuals have been arrested for eating in public during the daylight hours of Ramadan.
Eating in public during the daylight hours of Ramadan is a legal offense.
The individuals arrested for eating during daylight hours in Ramadan have been identified as Raif Ali, 25, of Jawahirumaage, GDh. Vaadhoo, and Mohamed Shiuneez, 41, of Yellow House, S. Feydhoo.
In connection with the case, Raif has been remanded in custody for seven days, while Shiuneez has been ordered to be held for five days.
Among them, Raif was taken into custody for chewing gum in public. Details regarding the arrest of Shiuneez have not yet been disclosed.
According to the court order for their remand, both individuals have prior criminal records involving multiple arrests and periods of detention.
