Saudi Arabia's annual Ramadan date donation yet to be received: Islamic Ministry
Due to delays in the arrival of date shipments, distribution to the public is expected to take place toward the end of Ramadan or near Eid al-Fitr this year. Although dates were distributed prior to the start of Ramadan last year, the Ministry has confirmed that distribution will commence according to established procedures as soon as the shipments are received.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has stated that the dates annually gifted to the Maldives by the Saudi Arabian government for the month of Ramadan have not yet been received this year.
Every year, the Maldives receives a donation of dates from the Saudi government ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. However, many citizens who have not received dates this year are now raising questions regarding the matter.
When RaajjeTV’s "Fashaairu" program contacted the Ministry of Islamic Affairs on Thursday regarding the unavailability of dates, a Ministry official stated that the dates typically gifted by the Saudi Arabian government each Ramadan have not yet been received. The official noted that distribution will commence according to established procedures as soon as the shipment arrives. The official further informed that the dates are expected to be received towards the end of this month.
It is anticipated that the dates donated by the Saudi government will be distributed to the public towards the end of Ramadan or in time for the Eid al-Fitr holidays.
During last year's Ramadan, the Saudi government donated 50 tons of dates to the Maldives, while the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance provided an additional 10 tons. These dates were distributed to households prior to the commencement of the holy month.
