Collection of Fitr Zakat for this year's Ramadan commences
While online Fitr Zakat payments are open until the 27th of Ramadan, contributions can still be made through the BandeyriPay and FahiPay portals until the end of the month. Special arrangements have been established at the Islamic Centre for those facing difficulties with online payments, while local island councils will continue to manage Zakat collection in the administrative atolls.

The collection of Zakat al-Fitr for this year's Ramadan has commenced.
The collection of Fitr Zakat commenced on Wednesday, with options available for members of the public to make their payments online.
The Maldives Zakat House has announced that online collection of Fitr Zakat for the year 1447 AH will be open from the 1st of Ramadan until 06:00 AM on the 27th of Ramadan. Payments can be made through Dhiraagu Pay, m-Faisaa, FaisaMobile, BML, FahiPay, Avas App, and the Bandeyri Portal.
Additionally, the Zakat House has stated that Fitr Zakat payments can be made through BandeyriPay and FahiPay until the final day of Ramadan. The agency further noted that arrangements have been made to accept Zakat payments at the Islamic Centre's seminar hall, specifically to assist the elderly and those who are unfamiliar with online payment methods.
The Maldives Zakat House has announced that Fitr Zakat will be accepted at the Islamic Centre from February 22 to March 9, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on all official working days. Furthermore, from March 10 to March 19, 2026, collections will be made daily, excluding Fridays and Saturdays, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The Maldives Zakat House has stated that island and city councils will be responsible for making arrangements to accept Fitr Zakat payments in cash across all islands, excluding Male' City.

- Standard rice priced at 12 Rufiyaa.
- Thai jasmine rice priced at 53 Rufiyaa
- Red rice at 96 Rufiyaa
- Basmati rice (standard) – 77 Rufiyaa
- Basmati Rice (Premium) – MVR 109
- Basmati Rice (Premium) – MVR 136
- Standard flour is priced at 10 Rufiyaa
- Atta flour priced at 75 Rufiyaa
Zakat al-Fitr is an obligatory charity incumbent upon every Muslim. It must be paid in the form of the staple food grain commonly consumed by the local population. The required amount is one Sa’a, which is equivalent to four double-handfuls.
