MDP leadership travels to atolls for local council election campaign
The MDP leadership has launched a nationwide campaign for the upcoming elections, with Chairperson Ghafoor and several Members of Parliament actively visiting various islands. While former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih leads "door-to-door" canvassing efforts in Male', the party has also scheduled special rallies in Addu City and Sh. Foakaidhoo. These campaign activities have already seen the inauguration of party hubs and flag-hoisting ceremonies across several islands.

Leadership figures from the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) have departed for the atolls to launch campaign activities for the upcoming Local Council and Women’s Development Committee elections.
The Chairperson of the MDP, accompanied by several senior party officials, departed for the islands of Baa Atoll on Friday morning. Former MDP Chairperson Fayyaz Ismail and several Members of Parliament are currently active in various islands across the atoll, where they continue to lead campaign activities.
As part of these efforts, the MDP campaign office in B. Thulhaadhoo is scheduled to open this Friday, while a ceremony to hoist the party's grand flag was held in GDh. Gadhdhoo on Friday morning. Additionally, former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih joined MDP candidates for the Male' City Council elections in a door-to-door campaign event. During this activity, the former President visited households alongside the candidates and engaged with a large number of residents.
Furthermore, the MDP has announced that a door-to-door campaign activity will be held on Friday afternoon, featuring Male' City Mayor Adam Azim. The party also confirmed that a rally is scheduled to take place in Addu City on Friday night. Additionally, a campaign event attended by former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is set to be held in Sh. Foakaidhoo on Saturday night.
