Club Eagles has surged up the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League (DDPL) standings after delivering an emphatic victory over United Victory (UV).
In the match played at the Galolhu National Stadium on Saturday night, Eagles produced a commanding performance to secure a 4–1 win. The side asserted control early, scoring two goals in the first half before adding two more in the second half. United Victory managed to register a single goal during the latter half of the match.
The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when Zain Zafar found the net to give Eagles the lead. Momentum remained firmly with Eagles as Mohamed Sabah Mansoor doubled the advantage in the 41st minute, sending his side into the halftime interval with a strong cushion.
UV attempted to mount a comeback early in the second half when their foreign signing, Mohamed Samir, scored in the 59th minute to reduce the deficit. Any hopes of a turnaround were quickly extinguished as Club Eagles responded with two more goals to decisively seal the contest.
Zain Zafar struck again in the 64th minute to claim his second goal of the match and restore a commanding lead. The result was put beyond doubt in the 88th minute, just two minutes before the end of regulation time, when Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain, more commonly known as Feydhoo Ibbe, added the fourth goal for Eagles.
