Hujaan wins men’s singles at carrom nationals; Vidhaadh breaks record in women’s singles
Ibrahim Hujaan clinched the Men's Singles title, while Aminath Vidhaadh secured an unprecedented seventh Women's Singles championship, setting a new national record at the 34th Carrom National Tournament. This year's event marked a historic moment by introducing a Junior age group category for the first time.

At the 34th Carrom National Tournament, organized by the Carrom Association of Maldives, Ibrahim Hujaan secured the Men’s Singles title, while Aminath Vidhaadh emerged victorious in the Women’s Singles event.

In the Women’s Singles final on Sunday, Aminath Vidhaadh faced off against Aishath Naufa. Vidhaadh triumphed in a closely contested match, winning two sets to one with scores of 24-17, 11-21, and 25-08.

With her victory in the Women’s Singles event, Aminath Vidhaadh has set a new national record, securing her seventh championship title at the National Tournament.

In the Men’s Singles final, Ibrahim Hujaan faced Ismail Azmeen, the reigning National Tournament champion of 2022 and 2023. Hujaan defeated Azmeen in straight sets, with a convincing 25-10, 25-15 victory. This marks Hujaan’s first-ever championship win at the National Tournament.

With the conclusion of the Singles events, this year’s Carrom National Tournament has officially come to a close. In addition to the Second Division, the tournament also featured the First Division National Tournament. Notably, for the first time, a National Tournament was held for the Junior age group, marking a significant milestone in the competition’s history.
