Maldives’ national under-16 football team has won its second friendly match against their Sri Lankan counterparts with a score of 2-1.
The team is currently camping in Sri Lanka in preparation for the under-16 SAFF Championship, to be held in Nepal.
Maldives’ Ismail Mimrah and Ahmed Samaah had scored the two goals for their team in Monday’s match. Maldives had won an earlier match against Sri Lanka, played on Friday, with a score of 3-0.
They are currently being trained by Mohamed Shaazleen, who used to be the coach for BG Sports Club and Victory.
Maldives is in Group-B, along with India and Nepal, in the championship – to be held from the 18th to the 27th of this month. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Bhutan are in Group-A.
