Parliamentary sittings have been suspended while some bills of public concern remain unfinished. During the fasting month, sittings were conducted for less than 30 minutes. Some lawmakers have also expressed concerns that many committee works are not progressing.
In connection with the last 10 days of Ramadan, the government will halt services from March 20, and after the Eid holiday, it will resume on April 5.
Making the last 10 days of Ramadan public holidays was a presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Although these days have been declared as holidays for government employees, some employees are required to work to provide essential services. Therefore, the government has decided to provide compensation for these employees.
