Agreements have been signed to build mosques in two islands.
The mosques are being constructed in Alifushi island of Raa atoll and Hulhudhoo district of southernmost Addu City.
In a post on social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs revealed that the mosques are being build as part of community service initiatives.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to build a mosque in Alifushi island was signed between Abdul Rahman Moosa and Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
The MOA entails the construction of a mosque in Alifushi island, with a population of 570 people. The entire project is to be funded by Abdul Rahman.
The project was contracted to be completed within 732 days.
The MOA to build a mosque in Addu City Hulhudhoo was signed between Mohamed Solih and Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
The MOA entails the construction of a mosque with a capacity to accommodate up to 200 worshippers, on a plot in Hulhudhoo titled ‘Moonlight’. The entire project is to be funded by Solih.
The project was contracted to be completed within 720 days.
