An agreement has been signed to build a mosque in Hulhumalé Phase II.
The mosque is being built as part of a community service project.
The initiative is being undertaken by Mohamed Yousuf.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between Yousuf and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs on Thursday.
The MOA entails the construction of a mosque on lot number (N5-53) 2215 land in Hulhumalé Phase II.
The entire project is being funded by Yousuf.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Islamic minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed revealed that several agreements were being signed with private parties for the constructions of mosques across the country.
He expressed hope that the construction of the mosques under these agreements, would conclude within the next two to three years.
