City Council seeks locals to maintain mosques in GMR

Malé City Council is seeking to employ locals for the maintenance of mosques across the Greater Malé Region (GMR).

In an announcement made on social media platform ‘X’, the city council revealed that they are looking to employ Maldivians, both male and female, to maintain, clean, supervise, conduct required renovations and to oversee other such issues at mosques across Malé and Hulhumalé.

The city council is looking to hire two masons with a MVR 15,000 salary promised to each, two welders with a MVR 15,000 salary promised to each, a carpenter who will receive MVR 15,000 as a salary, two plumbers who will be entitled to receive a salary of MVR 15,000 each, an electrician who will receive MVR 15,000 as a monthly salary, two technicians who will receive MVR 15,000 as a salary on a monthly basis and five supervisors who will receive MVR 5,020 as a salary with an added service allowance of MVR 1,500.

Further, the city council is also looking to employ 110 workers who will be tasked with sweeping and cleaning mosques for a monthly salary of MVR 12,000.

Five employees will also be hired to conduct repair work for a salary of MVR 12,000.

The city council will also be hiring three administrative officers who will receive a monthly salary of MVR 4,465 with an added service allowance of MVR 1,500.

The city council has urged interested parties to apply for employment before 1pm, March 28.

In a post on social media platform ‘X’, Malé City Mayor Adam Azim revealed that this is the third time that they have announced to employ locals to maintain mosques.

The capital city’s mayor has urged as many Maldivians as possible, to join the workforce.
