The harbor channel dredging and breakwater construction project in Manadhoo island of Noonu atoll is well underway.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Sunday.
As such, providing the latest updates of the Manadhoo harbor channel dredging and breakwater construction project via Twitter, the company revealed that they have completed the channel breakwater operations and construction of ramp.
The company revealed that the project has reached 55 percent progress, overall.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct dredging and excavation operations in an area measuring 29,038 cubic meters and construct a breakwater measuring 195 meters.
Further, the company will also be building a revetment measuring 188 meters, a concrete bridge and a ramp.
Other work that comes under the scope of the project include the installation of navigational aids.
The Manadhoo harbor channel dredging and breakwater construction project is valued at MVR 30.3 million.
The project was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
