Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a case of gang violence in Fuvahmulah City, in which one person was seriously injured.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the arrests were made under a court order, in the southern city of Fuvahmulah.
MPS received reports of the gang violence in Fuvahmulah at around 12:30am on Sunday.
The individual injured in the gang assault was rushed to Fuvahmulah Hospital for treatment and has since been transferred to the capital Malé City for further treatment.
The victim of the assault has been identified as a 36-year-old Maldivian man.
Further investigations into the case of gang violence, are currently underway.
