Mathiveri MP attacked inside a café in the capital

MP for Mathiveri constituency Hassan Zareer
Parliamentarian representing Mathiveri constituency, Hassan Zareer has been attacked while inside a cafe' in the capital.
A media official at the Maldives Police Service (MPS) told RaajjeMV that the police institution received reports of the attack on MP Zareer, at around 05:08am on Monday.
According to the police institution, the parliamentarian was attacked with a weapon that “could be” potentially dangerous.
The attack is to have taken place inside Habibi Café and Bistro located in Galolhu-ward of congested capital, Malé City.
MPS is yet to identify the perpetrators behind the attack on the lawmaker.
MP Zareer was rushed to ADK Hospital for treatment. Sources report that he did not suffer from any severe or life-threatening injuries.
Further investigations are currently underway.
