The building from which the debris had fallen onto the house, named Sosunneed, had been heavily damaged by a fire. The premises had not been cleared of debris and solid remains after the incident.

Winds had also brought down a number of billboards and some trees in Malé, damaging vehicles and road fittings that they had fallen on

While winds had also brought down a number of billboards and some trees in Malé – damaging vehicles and road fittings that they had fallen on, a safari boat docked in Hulhumalé had also been flooded.
