The harbor development project in Kamadhoo island of Baa atoll, is well underway.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday.

As such, providing the latest updates of the Kamadhoo harbor development project, MTCC revealed that the project is progressing well and that it has reached overall 54 percent progress.

The company went on to reveal that the third shipment of rock boulders required under the project have been delivered to the project site.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct dredging operations in an area measuring 30,933 cubic meters and channel dredging operations in an area spanning 5,085 cubic meters.

The construction of a breakwater measuring 181 meters, a 392-meter quay wall and a revetment measuring 656 meters, are also included as part of the project.

MTCC will also be building a harbor pavement measuring 1,670 square meters, alongside the construction of a ramp.

The scope of the project also includes the installation of navigational lights and harbor lights.

The Kamadhoo harbor development project is valued at MVR 48.63 million.
