The changes led by the incumbent administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, to the operations and management of the Addu Equatorial Hospital over the course of the past two years, have yielded positive results, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
The vice president made this remark during a meeting with the senior management and staff at the Addu Equatorial Hospital on Thursday, as part of his ongoing trip to the south of Maldives.
During his tour of the hospital, VP Naseem visited some patients seeking treatment at the hospital and inquired about their well-being.
Speaking to the hospital’s employees and management, VP Naseem highlighted that the multiple changes brought by the administration to the operations at the hospital had rooted positive results.
He went on to urge the management to prioritize the best possible medical care for patients and strive towards improving healthcare standards.
Mohamed Solih, Chief Executive Officer of AEH briefed VP Naseem regarding the progress made over the course of the past two years in improving the hospital’s service standards.
Dr. Solih also stated that efforts are underway to acquire ISO certification for the laboratory at the hospital.
Work to develop a catheterization laboratory at the hospital is also underway.
The hospital is a tertiary hospital with a 102-bed capacity and is managed by an independent governing board constituted by the president.
After concluding the meeting, VP Naseem toured the development site of the central power station of FENAKA Corporation where he inquired about the progress of the project.
VP Naseem will conclude his five-day tour of the south and return to the capital city on December 19.
