The Secretary-General of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), Jürgen Stock has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Faisal Naseem.
The meeting was held at the President’s Office, on Wednesday.
During the meeting the Vice President and Secretary-General Stock discussed ways to intensify cooperation between the Maldivian government and the Interpol.
The meeting also saw Vice President Naseem expressing appreciation for Interpol's technical assistance and expertise in strengthening the Maldives’ border security measures.
Secretary-General Stock outlined Interpol's recent initiatives and emphasized on the importance of collective efforts by member countries in fighting crime.
Vice President Naseem and Secretary-General Stock also explored ways to enhance cooperation through information sharing and investment in training and education.
Secretary-General Stock also expressed his desire to encourage regional police partnerships to strengthen Interpol's global impact further.
The Vice President acknowledged the efforts of the Maldives Police Service and other law enforcement agencies in reducing crime and enhancing public safety. He also expressed gratitude on behalf of the Maldivian government for Interpol’s support.
