Vice President Naseem stated that healthcare should be provided with excellent facilities

Vice President Faisal Naseem has emphasised on the significant contributions of the private sector to the flourishing of the Maldives' health sector.

The VP made these remarks during his address at the 'Cardiac Workshop 2023,' an event organised by ADK Hospital to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the first cardiovascular surgery performed in the Maldives, on Tuesday.

Speaking at the event, the Vice President highlighted the numerous steps this administration took to advance the healthcare sector, particularly in the atolls. He emphasised on the efforts made to improve healthcare resources and deliver superior services.

The VP further highlighted the initiatives and successes of ADK Hospital in advancing the Maldives' healthcare sector by bringing in first-rate services and modern medical technology.

In his speech, Vice President Naseem stated that healthcare should be provided with excellent facilities while encouraging the adoption of health-friendly lifestyle practises. He emphasised the need to raise awareness among the general public and improve dietary and lifestyle habits in light of the current situation in the nation. Additionally, he urged efforts to raise awareness of both public health and mental health issues.

During the ceremony, Vice President Naseem unveiled the Cardiac Patient Handbook. The 'Cardiac Workshop 2023,' organised by ADK Hospital, aims to educate schoolchildren and medical students in colleges and universities about cardiovascular conditions and available treatments in the country. ADK Hospital performed the first cardiovascular surgery in the Maldives on August 8, 2018.
