The People’s Majlis has concluded the third and final session of the year.

The last sitting of the third session of the year was held on November 28. The sitting saw the parliament approving the state budget 2023 and a supplementary budget for the ongoing year.

The third session of the year was commenced on 18 August.

According to the statistics released by the People’s Majlis, 54.7 percent of the work was completed within the session.

The government proposed 13 bills to the session, and 29 bills were forwarded to the session from the second session of the year. Out of these 42 bills, work on 25 bills were completed. Work on 17 bills are yet to be completed.

Further, with the 13 resolutions proposed to parliament chamber during the session, the parliament worked on a total of 17 resolutions. While six resolutions on six matters were completed, 11 resolutions proposed to the parliament are yet to be completed.

Ten out of the 11 matters presented by the government and placed on the agenda were completed. These includes three matters forwarded from the second session of the year and eight presented during the session.

The chair of the People’s Majlis presented six matters, of which four were completed.

Out of the eight issues submitted by parliamentarians, only three had been completed by the end of the session.

Ten reports linked to other cases were also submitted, the work on five of the reports has been completed.

Additionally, a total of nine adjournment motions were completed during the last session of the year.

During the session, the parliament had proposed a total of 89 questions for Cabinet Ministers, of which answers were attained for 43.

Total 43 sittings were held during the third session this year.
