HPA confirms third H1N1 fatality
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has on Monday counted a third H1N1 fatality. 
HPA’s daily report on the ongoing influenza outbreak, said that 147 patients have tested positive for the strain thus far, and 22 have been hospitalized. 
A total of 1733 patients had sought consultation for colds and fever, all over the nation.

HPA’s daily report on the ongoing influenza outbreak, said that 147 patients out of 411 have tested positive for the strain thus far, and 22 have been hospitalized. 

The agency confirmed the second death on Thursday, reportedly a woman native to Eydhafushi of Baa atoll.

The first patient to have succumbed was a 26-year-old whose death was announced last week. 

HPA’s statistics for the end of last week show that 782 patients had sought treatment from the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital’s flu clinic and 250 had sought treatment from ADK – both in Malé City. 

A total of 1733 patients had sought consultation for colds and fever, across the nation.
