Solih administration steering transformational changes to Bodu Thiladhunmathi region: spokesperson

The incumbent administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is steering extraordinary and transformational changes to the north of Maldives, says Miuvaan Mohamed, Spokesperson at the President’s Office.

Miuvaan said this while speaking to press during the weekly presser hosted at the President’s Office, on Thursday.

As such, the spokesperson stated that the Solih administration has been steering unprecedented and transformational changes to Bodu Thiladhunmathi which comprises of the three northernmost atolls of Maldives.

This comes at a time President Solih is scheduled to visit four islands in Bodu Thiladhunmathi area in the coming week. The visit will see the president inaugurating multiple projects initiated by the administration.

Shedding light on the notable developmental initiatives of the administration in the region, Miuvaan stated that the administration’s Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service had interconnected the region.

Going on to note that the upgrades to the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital are underway, Miuvaan stated that the water and sewerage network development and other projects are also proceeding.

The presser also saw the spokesperson announcing that the expansion project of the Hanimaadhoo International Airport will be signed on September 25.

Highlighting that the administration’s "Jazeera Raajje" development policy aims to ensure essential services in all inhabited islands and ease transportation and access to services across the country, Spokesperson Miuvaan stated that that transformational changes to the Bodu Thiladhunmathi region mirrors the the development vision of the Solih administration.

The media was also briefed regarding President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed’s recent visit to the United Kingdom to attend the funeral of the late Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Commonwealth of Nations Queen Elizabeth II, during Thursday’s presser.

The presser also saw Miuvaan recapping details of the ratification of two amendment bills. President Solih on Wednesday ratified the 12th amendment to the Maldives Tourism Act and the seventh amendment to the Maldives Employment Act.
