No corruption in godown hire in Nasheed administration
First leased under President Maumoon’s tenure by Department of Medical Services

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decreed that there were no elements of corruption in the long-term lease of a 1200 square foot godown in Diamond Jubilee Carnival by Health Ministry.
The case was filed to ACC by a private citizen. The ruling stated the lease was in effect from March 10, 2008 to end of 2009. The ruling added that products were kept inside the godown for an additional 11 months, after the lease expired.
The godown was first leased under President Maumoon’s tenure by Department of Medical Services. When the Department was nullified, the assets were transferred to Health Ministry. The ruling said Health Ministry had extended the contract, and therefore, there was no evidence to support corruption claims.
ACC said their investigation had proved that products were stored in the godown after an agreement was signed to the effect on February 22, 2010.
