The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Maldives, Yury B. Materiy, has paid his farewell call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The Russian Ambassador and President Solih held the meeting at the President's Office on Thursday.
During the meeting, President Solih commended the Russian Ambassador for his sincere work and dedication to enhancing the bilateral ties of the two countries.
Additionally, the President expressed gratitude to the Russian government for its continuous support and assistance to the Maldives in the bilateral and international forums.
Moreover, the meeting also saw the President and the Ambassador recalling the dynamics of the bilateral relations and the growth of collaborations between both the countries. As such, the tourism sector was highlighted by both the parties.
They also shed light on the Visa Waiver Agreement inked by the two nations that strengthened people-to-people ties and tourism collaboration.
Discussions were also held about enhancing trade and business collaboration between Russia and Maldives.
The call concluded with the President and the Ambassador expressing confidence in building relations further over the coming years.
