Treachery and betrayal of this administration have become excessive; if this were MDP, they would already be on the streets fighting for their rights: Yameen
Former President Abdulla Yameen has revealed that he decided to collaborate with the MDP to secure citizens' rights due to the current administration's high levels of corruption and betrayal. Speaking at a PNF gathering, Yameen stated that the MDP is currently the only party actively advocating for the people's rights on the streets, and therefore, there is no reason not to join forces with them.

Former President Abdulla Yameen has stated that the current administration's level of betrayal and corruption is immense, asserting that the MDP is the only party taking to the streets to advocate for the rights of the people.
Speaking at a gathering organized by the PNF, President Yameen stated that while government officials have criticized his decision to collaborate with the MDP following his previous rebukes of the party, he can no longer support the current administration.
He stated that the reason for this was the sheer scale of the current administration's betrayal and corruption.
These individuals are distressed because I have joined the MDP after being such a vocal critic of the party. However, the reality of the situation, as I must inform my supporters, is that I can no longer support this administration. Their level of betrayal and corruption is simply too vast. They remain in power only through the deception of that "empty chair." What greater act of treachery could there possibly be?Former President Abdulla Yameen
Former President Yameen further stated that the MDP is currently the only party taking to the streets to secure the rights of the people. He added that at a time when these rights are being lost, there is no reason not to join forces with the MDP.
"It is the MDP, and no one else, that is out on the streets fighting to secure the rights of the people. Right now, we are facing the loss of our most fundamental rights. Therefore, I see no reason why I should not work alongside the MDP."Former President Abdulla Yameen
President Yameen has urged his supporters to remain steadfast. He further stated that the ongoing efforts are a national endeavor.
Three former presidents—Mohamed Nasheed, Abdulla Yameen, and Ibrahim Mohamed Solih—have agreed to work together to restore the nation’s democratic course. In a joint statement issued following their historic meeting, the three leaders alleged that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration has blatantly violated fundamental rights guaranteed to citizens by the Constitution and is actively exerting undue influence over the judiciary. They further noted that the government has undermined the authority of the Parliament and compromised the independence of state institutions.
