Capital City Sports Club is facing a hefty fine due to failure to attend two games in the ongoing Second Division Football Tournament.
The team failed to attend the very first match it was scheduled to play in the second division.
As such, the team was scheduled to compete against Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) on July 13.
A statement issued by the Football Association of the Maldives (FAM), reads that they have decided to slap the team with a MVR 30,000 fine for their failure to attend the game.
Further, Capital City Sports Club had also failed to attend their game against Tent Sports Club on August 6, following which the team was fined MVR 50,000 for repeatedly failing to show up.
With this, the team’s total fine amounts to MVR 80,000.
FAM cited the second division football tournament committee having revealed the decision to forward the case to FAM’s Disciplinary Committee for further review.
Capital City faces the hefty fine at a time the team has to faced an embarrassing defeat in all matches played in the tournament.
