As such, the country’s national bank announced the successful completion of a project to develop a picnic area in Kinbidhoo island of Thaa atoll, as well as a project to develop a barbeque area in Landhoo island of Noonu atoll.
The picnic area in Kinbidhoo is to be utilized by the island community as well as students of Kinbidhoo School.
The area is equipped with huts, traditionaljoali, wooden benches, barbeque areas and an outdoor shower.
Aishath Sama, a resident of the island, revealed that the island community residents usually travel to nearby islands for picnic or recreational activities as there is no proper beach on the island. She also revealed that the island community now has a space for everyone to enjoy, with the development of the picnic area.
Further, BML revealed that the barbeque area developed in Landhoo island is equipped with wooden benches, traditionaljoali, huts and has a canteen with mini library and a storage area.
