The president made this remark during a meeting held with Maldivian athletes participating in the Commonwealth Games and Islamic Solidarity Games 2022, on Tuesday.

During the meeting held at the President’s Office, the president stated that only a handful gets the “prestigious” opportunity to represent their country in international arenas, adding that this is an honor.

Further, he noted that the incumbent administration was working to provide the required training facilities and tools required to succeed in the global arena.

With this being said, President Solih stated that the government has worked hard over the last four years to develop sports in the Maldives.
