Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa.
The minister via twitter announced that he will meet with the AFC President on Saturday.
RaajjeMV understands that the minister was invited by Sheikh Salman, and that the meeting will take place in London, United Kingdom.
During the visit, both Minister Mahloof and President Salman will discuss on how AFC "could increase their support for the development of football in the Maldives”.

After the meeting, Minister Mahloof is to officially invite President Salman to pay a visit to the Maldives, on behalf of Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Following the Minister’s tweet, President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), Bassam Adeel Jaleel urged the Minister to advocate for Mariyam "Mayan" Mohamed, Maldives candidate for the FIFA Council seat in the upcoming AFC Elections, during the meeting.

While Mahloof is to meet with the AFC president, reports indicate a conflict beween the newly appointed minister and FAM. Furthermore, there are reports of a dispute between FAM and AFC.
