FIFA President Gianni Infantino is set to visit Maldives soon and meet President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Bassam Adeel Jaleel, the President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), confirmed this in a tweet on Friday.
In the tweet, Bassam said the FIFA President has confirmed that he will be visiting Maldives and meeting President Solih.
Bassam said they also discussed Infantino supporting Mariyam "Mayan" Mohamed, the Maldives candidate for the FIFA council seat in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) elections.

Earlier, youth minister Ahmed Mahloof said he will be meeting AFC President Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa on Saturday to discuss how AFC could increase their support for the development of football in the Maldives.
Minister Mahloof said he will also be inviting the AFC President to Maldives on behalf of President Solih.
Bassam has recently criticized minister Mahloof for establishing a fact-finding committee to investigate FAM over a large sum of money it received that had gone unaccounted.
