Sri Lankan High Commissioner calls on State Minister Khaleel

High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Maldives, Adam Maznavee Jaufer Sadiq paid a courtesy call on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday.
During the meeting, State Minister Khaleel congratulated the High Commissioner on his appointment and expressed confidence that the bilateral relations between the two countries will continue to flourish during his tenure.
State Minister Khaleel noted that the Maldives cherishes its relations with Sri Lanka as a close and longstanding partner, and expressed his gratitude to the Government of Sri Lanka for the substantial contributions to the socio-economic development of the Maldives.
Additionally, the State Minister and the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka referred to the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka and deliberated on avenues of collaboration, to assist Sri Lanka and the people of Sri Lanka.
High Commissioner Sadiq expressed gratitude to the State Minister for the warm welcome, and conveyed his strong commitment to cooperate with the Government of Maldives to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied at the call by Ms. Fathimath Ghina, Joint Secretary and Ms. Aishath Leen Fazeeh, Senior Desk Officer.
