Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert from Haa Alif to Dhaalu atoll, due to adverse weather conditions.
The advisory was issued on Sunday morning states that heavy rain showers and thunderstorms with winds gusting at 40 miles per hour are expected from from Haa Alif to Dhaalu atoll.
The white alert is effective from 10:30am to 3pm on Sunday.
MMS also urges seafarers to remain alert in event of the worsening weather condition, with a wave height of three to six feet expected during showers.
With Maldives currently in southwest monsoon the weather remains occasionally rainy, with a few thunderstorms.
