Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid on Sunday inaugurated the development of Inclusive Education Units in the cities of Kulhudhuffushi and Fuvahmulah with aid from Maldives' long-standing partner India.
Foreign Minister Shahid made the announcement in a tweet, noting that education must be a right for all and not just a privilege for the select few. FM Shahid went on to express delight at the inauguration of two Inclusive Education Units in two cities of the Maldives. The projects are being conducted with aid from Maldives' closest friend and neighboring India, who have been a stalwart supporter to the island nation amid the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The Inclusive Education Units will be developed in Afeefuddin School of Kulhudhffushi City, and in Hafiz Ahmed School of Fuvahmulah City under Indian grant aid.
Foreign Minister Shahid stated that the lives of citizens had changed drastically during the pandemic, but highlighted the unchanging fortitude of Maldives' strong relationship with India despite Covid-19.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid went on to extend his sincere gratitude to India, for continuing to facilitate highly impactful development projects across the island nation for the benefit of Maldivian citizens.
