The People's Majlis Secretariat is working with the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and ADK Hospital to provide Covid-19 vaccines to the public from the Parliament building.

Covid-19 vaccination efforts will continue at the People's Majlis building between 8am and 6pm.

Former President and Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed said that vaccines would be administered from the parliament building based on a list compiled by HPA.

While vaccination efforts are being conducted across the nation, health authorities have now begun administering shots to all those above the age of 45 who are at high-risk for complications from Covid-19 in the Male' area. Vaccination for those that fall into this category will be conducted at the Social Center in Male' and the Hulhumale' Flu Clinic between 9AM and 5PM, and between 9am and 1pm at the Villimale' Youth Center.

HPA has specified that vaccines will be administered to those above 45 years of age in the Male' area that have pre-existing health conditions that place them at a higher risk of complications from Covid-19. This includes those who are diabetic and have heart conditions, in addition to those who have had strokes and kidney diseases, along with those who have become immunocompromised due to long-term medication use.

Vaccines will also be administered to those with chronic health conditions, high BMIs and persons with Thalassemia and sickle-cell anemia.
