Days after insisting that he will not resign as Super United Sports (SUS) coach, Ahmed Nashid (Naadhu) has left the club.

This is not the only shakeup to a club management confirmed on Monday, United Victory (UV)’s Mohamed Adam was also replaced the same day.

Rumors of Naadhu’s impending resignation from SUS have been circulating since the team's draw against UV last Saturday, however, Naadhu had insisted that the club will have to fire him as he “will not quit”.

SUS announced the mutual agreement to dissolve Naadhu’s contract via its official Facebook page on Monday, thanking him for his contributions to the team’s success.

The move comes amid reports that SUS in talks with Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan), who recently resigned from Club Eagles, to replace Naadhu as head coach.

SUS, who Naadhu said started the season with the aim to end the league in the top six, is currently fifth in the league-table with seven points; while this is the club’s first appearance in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League (DDPL), the newcomers have earned a strong reputation with just one loss in six games under Naadhu's instructions.

Earlier on Monday, United Victory announced the appointment of Ihsan Abdul Ghani (Saanthi) as a temporary coach, following the resignation of Mohamed Adam.

Saanthi, who was the assistant coach prior to Monday, had previously said that the only reason he was with UV was because of a request by Adam. Saanthi will remain as UV’s head coach until a permanent appointment is made.

UV is yet to win a game in the league, and is currently at the bottom of the table with just three points in six matches.

With Naadhu and Adam’s resignation, a total of four coaches have left the clubs they started out the season with this year, including Eagles’ Mohan as well as Maziya Sports and Recreation Club’s Mohamed Nizam (Nizambe).

While some of the clubs are yet to officially replace these coaches, Maziya appointed a new Serbian coach following Nizambe’s resignation.
