BML introduces changes to its organizational structure and executive leadership team

The bank assured that despite these leadership transitions, there will be no disruptions to its ongoing customer services.

According to Bank of Maldives (BML), this change is aimed at enhancing the bank’s accountability while ensuring services provided to customers are more streamlined and efficient. Furthermore, this is a significant step towards aligning the bank’s operations with its long-term strategic goals. These objectives focus on achieving sustainable growth, strengthening customer relationships, and elevating service standards to a higher level.
As part of these structural changes to the management framework, four members of the senior management team have taken on responsibilities in different areas related to their positions for a period of six months.
The changes are as follows:
- Aishath Zamra Zahir: Chief Commercial Officer
- Moosa Nimal: Chief Marketing Officer
- Rashfa Jaufar: Chief Risk Officer
- Gary Laughton: Chief Credit Officer
Bank of Maldives CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef stated that these changes are being implemented to drive the bank's growth. He further emphasized that the bank currently maintains a robust financial position.
According to the bank, these are internal administrative changes and will not affect the products and services provided to customers, nor will there be any changes to existing transaction procedures.
With the approval of the Board of Directors, the implementation of this newly revised organizational structure became effective on August 4, 2026.
