New Radiant has been eliminated from the AFC Cup after its defeat against India’s Aizawl.
The team lost 2-1 in the group stage on Wednesday.
New Radiant could have only made it to the second round if it had defeated Aizawl.
While the first half saw no goals, the first goal was scored by Aizawl at the 61st minute with a penalty. The team extended the lead with another goal at the 82nd minute.
New Radiant’s Ibrahim Atheeq scored the team’s first goal three minutes later and had other chances to score but to no avail.
The winners of the group stages make it to the inter-zone semi-finals. After the group stage, New Radiant was in second place with 12 points and Bengaluru reached first with 15 points after beating Abahani Dhaka 4-0.
