Maldives lost to Nepal on Friday evening, in their second match in the Asian Central Zone Men’s Volleyball Championship, reducing the chances of reaching the finals.
Maldives took the first set of the match, 25-23, but Nepal had come out stronger in the second set, winning it 28-26.
While both teams played a strong game in the third, Nepal took the set 33-31, and won the match after taking the fourth set with an easy score of 25-19.
With this result, Nepal has the opportunity to move to the finals, and can do so by winning at least one set in its match against Kyrgyzstan. Nepal had lost its match against Turkmenistan on Thursday evening, with Maldives losing to Kyrgyzstan in their first match on Wednesday evening.
Four teams are competing in this year’s Asian Central Zone Men’s Volleyball Championship. All teams will face each other in round robin format, with the team finishing on top automatically qualifying for the final.
Turkmenistan beat Nepal in three sets on Thursday evening. Maldives’ next match is with Nepal, on Friday.
