Gordon Andrew Stewart has officially taken over his responsibilities as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
The announcement was made via a circular on Sunday.
MACL appointed Stewart as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director on June 28.
The British national has over 30 years of international Management experience in the aviation and transport industry across Europe MENA, Asia and North America.
This includes 20 years at executive and board level, said MACL.
Gordon officially joined MACL after the international borders reopened on July 15 and the company had earlier expressed confidence that his in-depth understanding of the business and recognized leadership will guide MACL to achieve greater success.
The appointment comes about one and a half years since Gordon’s predecessor, Adil Moosa resigned. Adil resigned during November 2018.
Moosa Solih served as the acting MD of MACL following Adil’s resignation and retired following Stewart having taken over the post officially.
