Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched a new self-service banking system in Hinnavaru in Lhaviyani Atoll.
The new ATM was officially inaugurated on Friday, by Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, and BML Deputy CEO and Director of Operations, Mohamed Shareef.
“In addition to the usual cash withdrawal facilities, the new ATM will support local individuals and businesses to deposit and transfer money on a 24/7 basis,” said BML.
It further noted that the Hinnavaru ATM is part of BML’s ‘MVR 300 million investment program to expand banking services and financial inclusion across the country.’
Speaking at the ceremony on Friday, Deputy CEO Shareef expressed delight in being able to provide support to Hinnavaru, adding that this ‘marks another step’ in the Bank’s ‘Aharenge Bank’ program.
The Aharenge Bank program ‘is a program benefiting individuals, businesses and communities right across the country”, he said.
