MIRA makes new regulation requiring GST statements to be submitted online

The GST statements include input and output taxes as well, and can be submitted through ‘MIRAconnect’

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has amended its procedures regarding the submission of Goods and Services Tax (GST) statements.

MIRA released a statement on Monday announcing that all GST statements, excluding those from operators in the tourism sector, shall be submitted online.

The statement says that the regulations were changed as such to ensure that entities that generate over 10 million annually can file their statements digitally.

The GST statements include input and output taxes as well, and can be submitted through ‘MIRAconnect’.

This regulation will come into effect from the 1st of July onwards.
