Maldives Covid-19 case count has surpassed 2,900.
On Friday, 14 new cases of the global pandemic, were confirmed by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
Out of the new cases reported by 6pm of Friday, 10 are Maldivians.
The remaining cases are three Bangladeshi nationals and one national from India.
The authority further revealed that Kudafari island in Noonu atoll still remains under monitoring.
With the new cases, the country’s Covid-19 total has risen to 2,913.
Further, HPA also reported an additional recovery from the virus on Friday, which pushes the total number of recoveries to 2,340.
Currently, there are 543 active cases in the island nation.
HPA went on to reveal that there are 459 individuals currently in isolation, whereas 32 individuals have been quarantined.
Maldives has reported 15 deaths to the virus thus far.
In comparison to when the first community transmission was reported in the Maldives capital, Malé on April 15 which provoked an immediate region-wide lockdown, the number of locals testing positive since the lockdown began easing is observably surging.
