Covid-19 cases recently being reported mostly from gov't offices: HEOC
 
31 individuals have been quarantined in connection to the case

Most of the Covid-19 cases being reported of recent are from government offices, reveals the Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC).

Joining the nightly press briefing at the center on Thursday night, the center’s spokesperson, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq stated that since the government offices were reopened and employees began reporting to work, Covid-19 cases reported since then include mostly employees from state institutions.

Among the recently reported cases are employees at the Bank of Maldives (BML), an employee at Dharumavantha School as well as a worker at the People’s Majlis.

Two employees at BML, a worker at Dharumavantha School, one from the People’s Majlis and a nurse from Tree Top Hospital have tested positive. The nurse is a contact of another positive case from the hospital. Within the past three days, eight cases in connection to a gym in Hulhumalé were also identified. Contact tracing for these cases, is underway”

Shedding light on the case from the Football Association of the Maldives (FAM), Dr. Nazla noted that the individual exhibited symptoms on July 4. 31 individuals have been quarantined in connection to the case.

HEOC has revealed this at a time the government offices opened for services on July 5.
